Teri Reed has a proven track record of working directly with business owners and their employees acting as a consultant, advisor or coach to immediately bring improvement to their organization then to impact long term continuous improvement.  She uses her knowledge and experience in organization development, group dynamics and leadership to help assess, plan, then implement solutions to impact positive change. 

She has worked extensively with many types of businesses and has assisted with start-ups, expansions, mergers, healthy but wanting to be stronger business assessment and sometimes closures. 

In addition Reed has over 23 years of experience working with multiple types of businesses and organizations including:  yacht brokers, higher education Universities, record labels, mortgage banks, artist managers, clothing designers, video publishers, property managers, restaurants, tile and gift manufacturing, hair salons.  Each of these types of organizations requires a different approach and Reed has shown that she can step in to provide useful advice and help to implement recommended changes.  Her work in building teams and in helping to improve leadership has been demonstrated repeatedly. 

She also has experience with the federal government in Washington, DC as well as in Regional and District offices while working early in her career with the White House during the Carter Administration then for nearly four years with the US Small Business Administration in the Region X, Seattle office.

Responsible for Department Management, including computing, engineering services, facilities and human resources as well as direct collaboration with Chair and faculty/staff leadership on strategic development of department during period of exponential growth in research award funding ($5M to $20+M in 3 years)

  • Primary responsibility for Information Systems strategic development on behalf of mortgage bank that grew from 15 – 180 employees in 3 states and 5 locations, including: hiring, supervising technical team; design and maintenance of network, desktops and servers; and selection and negotiation for software use by firm.
  • Responsible for expansion consultation for national video design and publishing company that grew from 7 to 35 employees and successfully positioned to sell, including assessment, planning, implementation of software for accounting, data base management and communications as well as extensive HR work with employees and owners.

  • Lead on behalf of family to re-start, position then sell restaurant/lounge operation located in buildings held by family.  Revenue from $0 to nearly $1M in 1st year.  Responsible for business processes including staffing, menu planning, food/supply purchasing/inventory, marketing and promotion.  Negotiated all vendor contracts and aspects of sale.
  • Appointed by King County Superior Court to serve as Special Master (CEO) for Record Label firm in trouble due to owner’s mental health issues.  During period of 1 year, conducted business assessment, created plan, gained approval to repair then close company.  Process involved work with staff, artists, vendors and lawyers to minimize liability and exposure for client.  Negotiated settlements with various parties involved.  Reported all activity conducted on behalf of owner, directly to the court.
